Citation

Young, M. L., & Callison, C. (2021). 51. Data Journalism: In Whose Interests?. Towards a Critical Data Practice, 379.

This book chapter examines the interests served by data journalism projects with a focus on recent crime-related data journalism that claims to serve the public good. The authors draw on the insights of Indigenous scholars to explore the ways in which data journalism is not as objective as many of its proponents claims and highlight the need for placing data in a cultural and historical context.
