This report finds that news and opinion media outlets routinely and inaccurately portray Black families as sources of social instability in society. To improve the representation and experiences of communities of color in the news media, the organization proposes a set of recommendations for newsrooms to reduce bias, prioritize diverse perspectives in reporting, and improve public understanding of systemic issues facing communities of color.
