Avoiding corrections
Provide this article for students to read, which discusses strategies for addressing inaccurate information provided by sources. Share the example below in which a source made untrue statements. Instruct students to read the original article and the piece debunking the original claims. Then ask the students to write a reflection discussing what strategies the authors of the original piece might have used to prevent the spread of false information. Alternatively, you can ask students to rewrite the parts of the article with misinformation, utilizing strategies from the CJR article.
